The Common Tones comprise the Tones used to sing a variety of texts: Versicles, Venites, Psalms, Gloria Patri Verses for the Great Responsories, Chapters, Lessons, and Prayers.
The Common Tones also includes private Prayers to be said before and after the Hours.
The Common Tones also includes the Neuma which conclude certain Antiphons as indicated.
